Student overview
A tour of the student area in EasyClass: how to get around it, what the counters mean, and which parts are not built yet.
The student area is a focused space for your own learning: your timetable, your courses, your grades, your invoices. It is separate from the admin area your teachers and school staff use, and you only ever see your own data in it. This page maps the whole thing so you know where to look for what.
The page you are on
Getting around
There are six destinations, and they are always the same six.
Home
This week's timetable, what is due, and the latest news.
My Courses
Every course you are enrolled in, filtered by status and class.
Schedule
Your full timetable by month, week, day or agenda.
Billing
Your invoices and how to pay them.
Announcements
Updates from your school and your courses.
Forum
Questions and discussion, per course.
Where they appear depends on your screen:
- On a computer all six sit in the sidebar on the left, with a clock and the date underneath them and your account button at the bottom.
- On a phone the bar at the bottom carries Home, My Courses and Schedule. The other three are behind More, along with your profile, the language switch, feedback and sign out.
No Billing in your sidebar is normal
Billing only appears if your school uses EasyClass for invoicing. If your school handles fees elsewhere, the entry is not there at all, and nothing is missing from your account.
Inside a course
My Courses is a list; the depth is one level down. Opening a course gives you seven tabs of its own, and three of them have enough behind them to be worth their own page.
Inside a course
The course header, the seven tabs, and the Overview that summarises the lot.
Lectures
Every lecture of a course, how to join an online one, and where its replay turns up.
Course materials
The files shared with your course, and why a classmate may have one you do not.
Your invoices
Billing works the same way: the screen is the ledger, and an invoice opens into a document you can read, download and pay.
Reading an invoice
Line items, discounts, tax, every payment recorded, and the two downloads.
Paying an invoice
Paying by card or with a cash code, in full or in part, and what happens after.
Badges and counts
Two destinations carry a number when something is waiting for you:
| Badge | Where | What it counts |
|---|---|---|
| Blue-tinted count | Announcements | Announcements you have not read |
| Amber count | Billing | Invoices you have not paid |
The counts refresh about once a minute, and anything above 99 shows as 99+.
On a phone, where those two live behind More, the More button shows a
small dot instead so you still know something is waiting.
Your account menu
Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, or More on a phone, to reach:
- Profile, where you check and update your personal details. See Your profile.
- Language, which switches the whole interface between English and French straight away.
- Feedback, which opens a short form for telling the EasyClass team what is working and what is not. It remembers which page you were on when you opened it.
- Log out.
There is no Settings page. The few things you can change about your account are in Profile and the language switch.
What is not built yet
EasyClass is being rebuilt, and some of what you can see is not yet something you can open. Rather than hiding these, the app shows them and tells you when they are unavailable.
| You can | You cannot yet |
|---|---|
| See what assignments are due and when | Open or hand in an assignment |
| See when your exams are and how long they run | Sit an online exam |
| Join an online lecture | Open a meetup or a non-lecture event |
| Read grades your teachers have shared | Nothing here is missing |
| Read announcements and forum threads, and post to the forum | Nothing here is missing |
Where a screen leads to one of these, EasyClass shows a short note with a link to the classic version, which still has them. Your work in the classic version and your data here are the same account.
Where to start
If you have just been given an account, start with Activating your account. Otherwise Home is the page you will use most.
