Set up a program

End-to-end walkthrough for launching a structured program, from blueprint to enrolled students.

This guide takes you from an empty organization to a running program with enrolled students. It ties together the pieces described in the staff reference.

Is a program right for you?

Use a program when students follow a defined, multi-course curriculum organised into years, semesters or modules, with a coefficient per course. For a single course or short training, follow Launch a class instead.

Before you begin

Make sure you have administrator or sufficiently scoped permissions, and know which courses your program will include.

Steps

Build your course templates

In the Course Catalog, create a template for each course the program will use.

Create the program

In Programs, create the program: name it, build its module tree, and add courses from your catalog with a coefficient and hours for each.

Assign program moderators

Still in the program wizard, pick the staff who will oversee the program and its cohorts. You can change this later.

Create a cohort

Add a cohort (for example "Fall 2024") with its start and end dates, and assign its moderators.

Add students

Enroll students into the cohort. To add many at once, see Import and enroll students.

Create program-based classes

Create classes for the cohort from the program blueprint, then schedule lectures and add coursework.

Go live

Students now see their courses under My Courses. Use announcements to welcome them.
